The city of Tigre (Tiger), placed 28 km (17.5 miles) to the north of Buenos Aires, on the delta of the river Parana, is one of the most nearby tourist places and of easy access. It is possible to come by bus or by train and also by the tourist "Tren de la Costa" ("Train of the Coast").
A set of islands lodge houses of the people who lives permanently there and of the people who has houses for the weekend. Several lines of collective longboats give regular service in the different channels of the delta, in addition to tourist crafts where, in someone, it is possible inclusive to eat on board.
A market of fruits and of wicker crafts is located in the "Puerto de Frutos" (Port of Fruits), where also trunks of felled trees of the islands are unloaded.
The Museum of Art Tiger, that time ago was a Casino, and the Naval Museum are two very interesting places to visit.
